Oh man, what a wonderful light hearted read. Did you grow up on a farm, raise a son, or just want to be reminded what it's like to be a carefree child? Gary Paulsen has taken my child childhood, your childhood, and painted the memories into a Harris and Me.I was a reluctant reader before Harris and Me, but my mom wanted me to read so we compromised. She would read she would read, I would listen, but this was the book. It had me, stole my attention, I wanted to see the words with my eyes. Gary Paulsen had me, as far as I was concerned he knew what I wanted and he wrote it for me.
Now prepare yourself to see life through the eyes of the never named me 'Me' as he finds himself on the Larson's farm for the summer. Upon arrival Harris wastes no time getting 'Me' roped into any and all ideas he can whip up. This lands them in one tricky situation after another, creating all kinds of trouble, not that they like creating trouble. How can two good old boys with imaginations as powerful as sun let something like edict, animals, or even the laws of physics get in the way of adventure?
